Vodacom, a leading African telecommunications company, invites young professionals to apply for its 2026 Early Careers Programmes, offering two pathways: the Discover Graduate Programme and the Internship Programme. These initiatives provide structured training, mentorship, and hands-on experience to develop future leaders in a dynamic digital environment. Open to South African citizens and residents of select African countries, these programmes start in February or March 2026.
Programme Details
Discover Graduate Programme
- Type: Permanent employment with a 2-year leadership development track.
- Duration: 24 months, starting February 1, 2026.
- Benefits: Full salary, employee benefits, mentorship, on-the-job training, and potential for international assignments post-programme.
- Objective: Transition into a permanent role within Vodacom, with opportunities for stretch assignments locally and globally.
- Tasks:
- Engage in structured training across Vodacom’s business units.
- Receive mentorship from industry experts.
- Lead cross-functional projects to drive innovation.
- Develop leadership and management skills through strategic initiatives.
Internship Programme
- Type: 12-month fixed-term contract.
- Duration: Starting February 1 or March 1, 2026.
- Benefits: Monthly stipend (estimated R5,000–R8,000), workplace experience, and a pathway to the Discover Graduate Programme or permanent roles.
- Objective: Build a talent pipeline for Vodacom’s core business areas while offering unemployed graduates practical experience.
- Tasks:
- Support daily operations in assigned departments.
- Assist in planning and executing projects.
- Conduct research and analysis to support business decisions.
- Participate in training to enhance professional skills.
Eligibility Criteria
- Age: 26 years or younger at the time of application.
- Citizenship:
- South African citizen by birth or naturalization, or permanent resident.
- Citizens of DRC, Kenya, Lesotho, Mozambique, Ethiopia, Egypt, or Tanzania may apply for roles in their home countries.
- Education:
- Completed or completing by end of 2025 an undergraduate degree (BCom, BSc, BTech) at NQF Level 7, or a 3-year National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in:
- Electrical/Electronic Engineering
- Computer Software Engineering
- Information Systems/Information Technology
- Minimum 65% aggregate in most recent academic results.
- Completed or completing by end of 2025 an undergraduate degree (BCom, BSc, BTech) at NQF Level 7, or a 3-year National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in:
- Experience:
- Discover Graduate Programme: Less than 2 years of post-study work experience.
- Internship Programme: 0–1 year of post-study work experience.
- Skills:
- Time management, interpersonal skills, and communication.
- Passion, flexibility, resilience, digital savviness, customer focus, innovation, and complex problem-solving.
