Job Summary
The Cleaner role is responsible for delivering a professional, efficient, and effective cleaning service. The main objective is to maintain a hygienic, safe, and visually appealing environment that supports health standards in the workplace.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Cleaning Duties
You will be responsible for cleaning areas such as:
- Offices and office blocks
- Boardrooms and conference centres
- Training centres and auditoriums
- Customer service centres and reception areas
- Kitchens, canteens, and dining areas
- Toilets, cloakrooms, and ablution blocks
- Passageways, smoking rooms, and linen rooms
- Outside cleaning areas
- Waste management and refuse removal
Daily Cleaning Tasks
- Vacuum, mop, scrub, and polish floors
- Clean kitchen utensils, equipment, cupboards, and floors
- Wash and replace kitchen cloths and towels
- Empty kitchen and office bins and replace refuse bags
- Clean and disinfect door handles, handrails, taps, and toilet seats
- Disinfect waste bins twice daily and fit with plastic liners
- Vacuum upholstery and maintain furniture cleanliness
- Perform spot cleaning of carpets and walls
- Clean emergency exits and reception areas two to three times daily
Weekly and Monthly Duties
- Clean main entrance doors and windows three times weekly
- Empty and sanitize kitchen cupboards and canisters
- Remove wall and door markings and disinfect surfaces
- Deep clean non-carpeted areas and scrub tiles
- Vacuum and polish upholstered leather chairs and couches monthly
General Duties
- Deliver food and beverages as required
- Lock kitchen areas after hours
- Follow all Health and Safety procedures strictly
- Wear appropriate protective clothing at all times
- Use cleaning products as per safety guidelines
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Minimum of Grade 10 education
Experience and Skills
- Previous cleaning experience in a corporate or commercial setting
- Basic knowledge of hygiene and sanitation practices
- Understanding of cleaning products and equipment
- Familiarity with facility layout and maintenance requirements
