What’s the CENTLEC Security Guard Role?
CENTLEC, a state-owned electricity distributor in Mangaung, needs Security Guards to ensure safety across its Bloemfontein operations. You’ll work under the Security, Facilities, and Fleet Management Directorate, responding to incidents, patrolling, and protecting municipal property in a high-visibility role.
What You’ll Do
- Respond to reported incidents in municipal areas
- Patrol designated zones to deter crime
- Monitor and report attempted or actual break-ins
- Perform static protection duties for executives
- Minimize illegal access to CENTLEC property
- Investigate and deter workplace violations

Are You Eligible?
You qualify if you:
- Are a South African citizen with a valid ID
- Have a Grade 10 certificate
- Hold a minimum Grade C PSIRA certificate (registered)
- Have 2+ years’ experience in response duties and security
- Have a Code EB driver’s license
- Can read and write English and one other official language
- Have firearm competency (a plus for shortlisting)
- Have a National Key Point course (advantageous)
