Admission Requirements
Senior Certificate (Post-2008):
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) with diploma entry requirements
- English: Level 4
- Life Sciences (Biology): Level 4 or Physical Science: Level 3
- Mathematical Literacy: Level 4 OR Mathematics: Level 3
- Minimum 23 APS points (24 if using Mathematical Literacy)
- Computer Literacy (NQF Level 3) recommended
Old Senior Certificate (Pre-2008):
- Grade 12 with at least 950 aggregate marks
- English: HG D or SG C
- Life Sciences or Physical Science: Minimum required HG/SG symbols
- Mathematics: HG E or SG D
- Computer Literacy (NQF Level 3) recommended
National Vocational Certificate:
- NQF Level 4 (Grade 12 equivalent)
- English: Level 5
- Life Sciences: Level 5 or Physical Science: Level 4
- Mathematical Literacy: Level 5 OR Mathematics: Level 4
- Minimum 26 APS points (27 if using Mathematical Literacy)
- Computer Literacy (NQF Level 3) recommended
RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) Applicants
You may apply via RPL if you meet the following:
- Aged 25 or older
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in healthcare
- Valid Matric or equivalent meeting APS requirements
- May only RPL one subject
- Submit a motivational letter from employer (if applicable)
- Write and pass the RPL course
- Pay a non-refundable application fee
- Undergo psychometric testing, interview, and health assessment
- Be willing to travel to a learning centre for theoretical training
- Must be a South African citizen
