Register Your CV with the Department of Labour (ESSA System)

The Department of Employment and Labour invites unemployed South Africans to register their CVs on the Employment Services of South Africa (ESSA) system. This platform helps jobseekers connect with learning and work opportunities across the country.

How to Register
To complete your registration, you will need to provide:

  • Your surname
  • Your 13-digit South African ID number
  • A valid email address

If you do not have an email address, free services such as Gmail, Yahoo, or Webmail can help you create one.

If you don’t have a valid ID number or encounter registration issues, you must visit your nearest Department of Home Affairs office to apply for or verify your ID.

Once successfully registered, you will receive your username and password via email.

For Individuals Seeking Jobs or Learning Opportunities
After logging in, you can search the ESSA database for available job listings tailored to your profile.

For Employers and Organisations
An authorised representative of your organisation must first register individually. After logging in, they can link the organisation to its UIF reference number, post vacancies, and receive matched CVs from potential candidates.

How to Submit Your CV

  • Email your CV to pes@labour.gov.za
  • Visit the nearest labour office
  • Register and upload your CV directly on the ESSA website

Important Reminder
Please ensure all details on the ESSA application form are accurate to avoid delays or registration issues.
