General Residential Repairer Skills Programme 2025: 250 Opportunities for Unemployed Youth

The North West Department of Education is recruiting 250 young South Africans for a six-month General Residential Repairer Skills Programme. This initiative offers practical training, an NQF Level 3 qualification, and a monthly stipend of R3,000.

Applications are open to unemployed youth aged 18–35 across various districts in the North West Province. The closing date is 20 June 2025.

Programme Overview

This skills programme aims to equip participants with hands-on training in residential repairs and maintenance. The course combines theoretical instruction with real-world experience in local communities, preparing candidates for employment in the repair and maintenance sector.

  • NQF Level: Level 3 (31 credits)

Eligibility Criteria

To apply, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Education: Must have a Grade 12 (Matric) certificate
  • Age: Between 18 and 35 years old
  • Employment Status: Unemployed at the time of application
  • Citizenship: South African citizens only
  • Inclusivity: Applicants with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply

Application Instructions

Interested applicants must submit a completed Z83 application form (latest version), which is available at any Public Service Department or can be downloaded online.

  • A comprehensive CV
  • Certified copy of Grade 12 Certificate
  • Certified copy of South African ID
  • Proof of residence (from local municipality or a letter from the traditional authority for rural applicants)
  • Clearly indicate your preferred district and the correct reference number

Note: Incomplete or incorrectly filled applications will be disqualified. Late submissions will not be accepted. Only hand-delivered or physically submitted applications will be processed—no emails or faxes allowed.
