Job Overview
This position is ideal for a proactive team member responsible for overseeing raw material inventory and stock movement. The role involves ongoing monitoring of raw materials and additives, and working closely with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure timely deliveries, taking into account lead times and operatio
Minimum Requirements
Applicants will be required to meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for this role:
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4).
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in the FMCG sector.
- Previous experience in an animal feed mill is a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities
The role of the Stock Controller involves the following duties and responsibilities to be fulfilled:
- Supervise staff to ensure inspections and sampling align with quality standards.
- Oversee assets such as equipment, vehicles, and facilities under your control.
- Organize raw material delivery schedules and coordinate offloading.
- Accurately log incoming stock into the production system to speed up truck turnaround times.
- Place stock orders timeously, considering sales forecasts, stock levels, and delivery lead times.
- Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) and proper stacking/storage practices.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness in storage areas.
- Work closely with relevant departments to optimize planning and reduce material costs.
- Enforce fumigation and disinfection standards for incoming stock.
- Take full accountability for all raw materials in storage areas.
- Perform daily stock counts of raw materials and additives to prevent shortages and support product quality.
- Manage used packaging materials to help recover packaging costs.
- Maintain liquid raw materials and storage tanks, ensuring regular cleanouts.
- Manage bunkers and silos, keeping them clean and operating on an empty-to-empty basis.
