Dear Prospective Egg Donor
Thank you for your interest in becoming a Nurture Egg Donor! We’re thrilled that you’re considering this generous and compassionate decision. Please review the information below and complete the initial application form on this page.
Who can donate?
To qualify, you need to meet the following criteria:
- Be between 19 and 29 years old.
- Have a BMI between 18 and 29.
- Have completed Matric.
- Be a non-smoker or willing to stop smoking during the donation process.
Is the procedure painful?
No, the egg retrieval is painless. The medical team performs the procedure under conscious sedation, so you’ll be asleep and won’t feel anything during the 15–20 minute process.
How are the eggs collected?
While you’re sedated, a doctor will gently insert a thin needle through the vaginal wall to collect the eggs—there’s no cutting or scarring involved.
Is egg donation safe?
Yes, it is very safe. Our experienced medical team will ensure your health and safety throughout the entire process.
Will it affect my ability to have children in the future?
Not at all. Women are born with thousands of eggs, and each cycle naturally discards many of them. The eggs retrieved during donation are simply the ones that would have been released and lost in that cycle.
