EPWP Youth Graduate Work Opportunities (55 Posts)

Mogale City Local Municipality, in partnership with the Department of Forestry, Fisheries, and the Environment, is offering 55 EPWP Youth Graduate Work Opportunities in environmental conservation. These short-term, 5-month positions provide practical experience and a daily stipend of R247.50 for South African graduates aged 18–35 with relevant qualifications.


About the Programme

The Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) aims to empower youth with hands-on experience in various environmental sectors to promote sustainable development in Mogale City.


Available Positions & Tasks

  • Education & Awareness (5 posts): Community campaigns and environmental education
  • Climate Change (5 posts): Support mitigation and adaptation initiatives
  • Environmental Compliance (5 posts): Fieldwork and regulatory support
  • Landscaping (5 posts): Design and maintain municipal green spaces
  • Nature Conservation (5 posts): Biodiversity assessments and safety support
  • Urban Green (10 posts): Tree planting and greening initiatives
  • Bylaw Enforcement (20 posts): Monitor illegal dumping, enforce fines, promote recycling

Requirements

  • Education: Matric plus 3 years of study in Environment, Biodiversity, Forestry, Air Quality, Landscaping, Horticulture, or related fields
  • Experience: No prior work experience required — fresh graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Age: 18 to 35 years
  • Citizenship: South African
  • Location: Preference for Mogale City residents
