Takealot is seeking a Courier Controller for a six-month contract based in Cape Town. This role is ideal for professionals with experience in logistics, especially in managing courier services and delivery operations.
Position Details

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and evaluate courier service providers to ensure quality performance
- Oversee daily delivery schedules and tracking
- Update and maintain courier Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Handle delivery issues, complaints, and delays promptly
- Align courier systems with internal processes for accuracy
- Analyze failed deliveries, identify causes, and suggest improvements
- Assess loss and damage claims and forward for approval
- Reconcile transport invoices and ensure payments match agreed rates
- Recommend innovative solutions to improve courier and fulfillment services
Minimum Requirements
- Post-matric qualification in logistics or related field
- At least 3 years’ experience in distribution and 3PL environments
- Proficiency in SAP order capturing
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas)
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
