Refinery is looking for a Shop Assistant Cashier to become part of their team! In this role, you’ll play a key part in making sure customers enjoy their shopping experience. Your duties will include assisting customers, handling payments accurately, and helping maintain a clean, organized store. We need someone who communicates well, pays attention to detail, and always puts the customer first.
Key Responsibilities
The role of the P40 Shop Assistant Cashier involves the following duties and responsibilities to be fulfilled:
- Deliver excellent customer service and ensure a positive shopping experience.
- Process purchases accurately at the till point.
- Assist customers in selecting products, encouraging additional purchases when appropriate.
- Answer incoming calls and respond promptly to customer enquiries.
- Keep customer information up to date and accurate.
- Ensure products are neatly displayed and shelves are fully stocked.
- Refill shelves as stock runs low and introduce new stock onto the floor.
- Make sure pricing is accurate and store displays are attractive.
- Assist with receiving deliveries, using the proper tools and systems.
- Help maintain a clean and organized store environment.
- Prepare the store for the next day’s trade.
- Support the manager with stock preparation for audits.
- Safeguard and maintain store equipment.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Handle both cash and card payments carefully and correctly.
- Complete daily banking procedures efficiently.
- Be aware of daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets.
- Assist in efforts to reduce stock loss and improve profitability.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must:
- Have a Matric certificate.
- Have experience in one or more of the following roles: Cashier, Retail Assistant, Sales Assistant, Customer Service, Store Associate.
- Be proficient in English.
- Live within 15km of the store location.
- Have a clear criminal record.
